![]() I think Xemnas is still the best final boss in the series I was hoping MX would’ve beaten him in that regard, but going from goat Nort to regular MX felt kinda lame in KH3 I liked how varied the keyblades were and how they did different things for different situations, and overall I liked combat better. I’m a little biased about Org 13 because of my nostalgia for 358/2 Days, but I thought they had a lot of personality this game anyway! There were a lot of iconic moments in the game (1000-Heartless battle, Goofy’s “death”, Beast and Belle transitioning to Sora and Kairi during the dance, “DANCE WATER DANCE”, “I guess my summer vacation…is over”, etc). Despite the worlds becoming big, pretty hallways in a lot of cases, I think the aesthetic of the worlds are amazing! I like the story is a little more mature (even though I could tell it was very edgy). Not a hot take, I know, but this game is just amazing to me. However, what holds it back for me is the clunky controls, the combat, and some of the platforming. I have no nostalgia for this game, or any game in the series (besides Days) but this game gave me an atmosphere that I don’t think was replicated in any of the other games: there was an air of mystery surrounding the story, the Disney villains were all working together which made them feel like a real threat, the exploration was really good, and Sora and Kairi both had a lot more personality in this one than in later games. I liked the battle system, I liked the new Disney worlds, I liked that Zack was finally in a game and we saw young Hercules. Then I found out it was a prequel, which didn’t take away from the game, but made me wonder what Xehanort’s deal was and why he was old in this game. I also thought (because even though I didn’t start playing most of the series until 2017, i didn’t know about the rest of the series and I thought that after KH1, CoM, and 2, BBS was the start of a new saga with new characters. I loved the feel of the game, I loved the darker storyline, and I felt very sorry for the main characters. The game did a great job bringing the characters together, I loved the new PotC, the final boss was epic. However, I can’t deny that Toy Box has become one of my favorite worlds in the series. Some might think that this is too low for the game to wrap up the Xehanort saga, but even with the DLC (all of which I’ve finished/beaten), I couldn’t get over my issues with the base game that might’ve been small, but added up (no FF characters until the DLC, how Frozen was handled, no real midpoint to break up the Disney worlds, which left all the story at the end which is a problem I also have with DDD, and a few others). However, even back then I found the actual gameplay weird, and sometimes really hard. And I think playing the game and being able to play as the different org members made them my favorite characters in the series. ![]() The story was beautiful, I loved the characters, and the final battle between Xion and Roxas actually made me cry. ![]() This was the first game I played in the series, way back on my DS.
